Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds

Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th June welcomes the inaugural Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon to Leeds.

Representing the pinnacle of triathlon competition in the UK, over 5,000 recreational triathletes are set to take part in the event, which offers a unique opportunity to compete on the same course as the world’s finest.

Building on the success of Leeds and Yorkshire’s unforgettable 2014 Tour de France Grand Depart, the triathlon will see thousands of friends, fans and supporters cheering both amateur and professional participants as they swim, bike and run their way to glory. Home heroes Ali and Jonny Brownlee will also be competing, marking their last event on home soil before Rio.

The event follows the Olympic standard of a 1.5km swim within the peaceful setting of Roundhay Park’s Waterloo Lake, before the athletes make pace to the city centre on a 40km bike ride and finally finishing with a 10km run around the iconic city centre.
