Free Half Term Events in Manchester
Half terms dates for Manchester schools in February 2014: Monday 17 February 2014 to Friday 21 February 2014
As the February half term approaches we've rounded up some of the best free events and things to do with the kids. Keeping your children busy over the half term holidays can be difficult but Manchester has a varied range of free events across the city.
Both in Manchester city centre and beyond, there's a host of events going on.
Here's an overview from the CitiPark team to help make your half term holiday be a littler easier.
Manchester Museum
Manchester Museum's new exhibition “Coral: Something Rich and Strange' runs throughout the half term holiday. Visitors are invited to create undersea creatures and mythical monsters.
Wythenshawe Park and Farm
If the weather holds then Wythenshawe Park and Farm is a fantastic day out for the children. Located just south of Manchester, the park and farm is a great day out with entry to the farm completely free. Offering a taste of the countryside but not too far from Manchester city centre Wythenshawe Park and Farm is great fun for all of the family.
Museum of Science and Industry
The Museum of Science and Industry is a museum devoted to the development of technology, science and industry. The Museum has a range of events on during the half term holiday based around their Victorian London exhibition. Visitors even have the chance to walk through a Victorian sewer!
Miles Platting Pool
Over half term Miles Platting Pool are letting children swim for free, although children must be registered at the pool before half term. Located on Varley Street the pool is one of the best in Manchester and is very child friendly. Miles Platting Pool ask that children under eight must be accompanied by an adult.
Imperial War Museum North
If your children see themselves starring as James Bond in a few years time then the Imperial War Museum North's Spy Week is a must. Children will be taught about how to create a secret identity and takr part in the Super Spy Laser Maze Challenge.
Parking in Manchester
