Get On Your Bike For Sky Ride Leeds
It's cycle heaven in Leeds this year. Not only have we got The Grand Depart, June 15th sees Sky Ride returning to the city for the second year in a row.
A partnership between Leeds City Council, British Cycling and Sky, Sky Ride is a traffic-free city centre bike ride that encourages riders of all ages to get on their bikes and take part in the event.
Free to take part and running from 10am to 3pm, Sky Ride has a scenic 6.5km route that starts from The Headrow, passing the University of Leeds, Woodhouse Moor, Leeds General Infirmary, Millennium Square and the Civic Hall. As well as the ride, there'll also be other exciting events happening including the brand new “Tricks and Tunes' area. You can also check out the bikes used by Team Sky and the Great Britain Cycling Team, the Bike Cafe, and more fun cycling activities to add to the already buzzing atmosphere.
If you're one of the first to register, you'll receive a limited edition gift on the day. Don't forget, everyone that signs up for Sky Ride Leeds is entitled to a free expert bike check from Halfords!
Don't worry if you don't have a bike though, you can hire one from Victoria Gardens.
Parking for Sky Ride in Leeds
Sky Ride is sure to be up there with The Grand Depart as one of the most exciting cycling events to hit the city this year. If you're driving to the event, why not leave your car at one of our conveniently located car parks in Leeds city centre. Our Merrion Centre car park is located a few minutes walk away from the starting point.
