Grillstock Festival Manchester: A Two Day Festival of Meat, Music and Mayhem
This June sees the start of something special in Manchester city centre. Introducing Grillstock Festival 2014, a two day celebration of BBQ food, exciting live music, DJs and much more.
Curated by Bristol-based restaurant Smokehouse, the festival is held both in Bristol and now in Manchester Albert Square on two separate weekends. Arriving in Manchester on June 28th-29th, it's sure to be an event to remember.
The main attraction at the festival is sure to be the incredible, smouldering hot, US style low “n' slow BBQ competition with teams from all over the world lighting their coals and smoking joints of pork, lamb, beef and chicken. The Grand Champion of the competition from both Grillstock Manchester and Bristol will receive £1000 and also qualify for the prestigious American Royal World Series of BBQ “Invitational' in Kansas City later on this year, competing against some of the best BBQers in the world.
Not only that, there will also be a vast array of live music on offer to attendees. The mainstage is sponsored by Nokia and features music that reflects a deep affection for American roots including Vintage Trouble, The Ruen Brothers and the fantastic Hayseed Dixie. There will also be hot dog eating competitions, hot wing eating competitions, chilli eating competitions and a whole host of other entertainment.
Alongside all of this, there will also be a selection of some of the best BBQ restaurants and caterers in the country exhibiting at the festival including Leeds and Manchester's very own Reds True BBQ.
