Manchester Irish Festival Returns This March
It's time to get excited for St. Patrick's Day as Manchester's award winning Irish Festival returns to the city this March.
Returning for it’s 19th year between the 7th and 17th of March, bringing an estimated 200,000 visitors to celebrate Europe’s biggest and best Irish Festival outside of Ireland. With an incredible 200 different events including stand-up comedy, live music, dance, arts and sports, there’s something for all ages. Stretching across 100 different venues across the city, the Manchester Irish Festival will hold events in everywhere from the Manchester Town Hall to The Lowry.
The Oysterband
One of the stand out events includes The Oysterband live at The Lowry, one of the UK’s most loved electric folk bands are performing live on Friday 14th March.
St. Patrick’s Weekend Family Fun Day
An event for all the family will be the St. Patrick’s Weekend Family Fun Day on Sat 15th March at Chorlton Irish Club, which includes bouncy castles, a disco and Irish dancing displays.
The Bogtrotters
The internationally famous Celtic band hit The Shamrock Irish Bar on Sat 8th March bringing their classic Irish songs to Manchester from an array of talented musicians.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Sunday 16th March sees the return of the St. Patricks Day Parade to Manchester. Starting at the Irish World Heritage Centre at 12pm, moving into Manchester City Centre along Cheetham Hill Road, then onto Corporation Street, John Dalton Street, Lloyd Street, arriving at Albert Square at 1.30pm.
St. Patrick’s Day in Manchester
St. Patrick’s Day itself sees events happening all over Manchester to celebrate the event. One of the most popular is sure to be the St. Patrick’s Day Session at the Chorlton Irish Club, including live music, food and of course the bar will be open all day!
Manchester Irish Festival Parking
Please note that parking will be restricted throughout the city throughout the Manchester Irish Festival. The St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be particularly busy so if you’re looking for somewhere to park, our Dale Street car park is one of the most convenient. We’re also located on Port Street, Tariff Street and Ducie Street.
