October Half Term in Leeds
It only feels like a few weeks since the kids went back to school after the summer, but October half term has quickly crept up on us. The great thing is, Leeds has some of the best activities to keep everyone occupied throughout.
From spooky goings-on to family arts and crafts days, Leeds has a multitude of fun things for people of all-ages to get involved in. Here are a few of our recommendations of what's happening in Leeds this October half term.
Orcs and Zombies at the Royal Armouries, Leeds
We mentioned previously about the frightening talks on how to survive a zombie apocalypse, but this half term make sure you keep an eye out for Orcs and Zombies at the Royal Armouries. In between the talks on how to defeat the undead, there'll also be talks that take an in depth look at J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Visitors will get to see weapons used in the movies, as well as counterparts that are already held in the Royal Armouries' collection. There'll also be live combat demonstrations, craft activities, film screenings and much more.
Arts Festival at The Tetley
The Tetley is one of the most exciting developments to have hit Leeds in the past year. As well as their fantastic bar and restaurant, they have a fantastic calendar of arts and culture available to visitors.
This October half term, they're putting together an entire week of activities featuring everything from creating robots, to treasure hunts. There's something for all of the family (and a few cheeky pints for parents) with entry always free!
Peppa Pig at The West Yorkshire Playhouse
If you're looking to entertain the youngsters this half term then look no further than the West Yorkshire Playhouse. This October, Peppa Pig will be bringing the fun to Leeds with the Big Splash. After the show, there'll be a variety of activities and storytelling to keep the kids occupied.
Explore the Roman Empire at Leeds City Museum
As part of a British Museum tour, the Roman Empire will be arriving in Leeds this Autumn and Winter. Why not see some of the most stunning pieces from the Roman Empire at the Leeds City Museum, featuring coins from the famous Hoxne treasure, beautiful jewellery, and the sculptures from the villas of the Emperors Tiberius and Hadrian.
