Our Favourite Restaurants in Watford

Zinco, Taste Of Lahore and The Flowerdrum!

Watford, the largest town in Hertfordshire, has a fantastic selection of shopping destinations and tourists attractions, including the beautiful Cassiobury Park. On top of this it has a great selection of restaurants serving a variety of delicious cuisines. Check out our 3 favourites below.

Zinco
Zinco is an Italian restaurant serving up some fabulously authentic Italian cuisine. Their passion for good wine and great food really shows in what they have to offer their customers, with a menu full of both modern and traditional Italian dishes. Try one of their speciality raviolis, such as Tortellini Aurora alongside a glass of Orvieto Abboccato Doc to wash it all down.

The combination of a friendly atmosphere, great service and excellent food makes Zinco a great restaurant for all occasions.

“ Amazing food and service. Always friendly and make you feel welcome. Highly recommend this restaurant for a night out or celebration nights out.” Shelley Burgess

Taste Of Lahore
Taste Of Lahore is a true winner when it comes to Pakistani and Indian cuisine, widely known for being the first restaurant in London to serve Kunna Gosht. They offer a variety of traditional and authentic dishes from Punjabi Curries to Tikka Kebabs. Their restaurant is clean, cosy and welcoming, with super friendly staff.

They’re famous for it, so why not try their Kunna Gosht: a subtly flavoured curry dish with meat so soft you can cut it with a spoon. Their Karahi Lamb also gets two thumbs up as well as their Jalfrezi, if you like your curries hot and spicy.

“Excellent food, great place for an informal lunch or dinner. Bonus: Mum likes it, which is a huge compliment and means we no longer have to travel to Southall to eat out!” Faisel Farooq

The Flowerdrum
The Flowerdrum is Watford’s premier Chinese restaurant. Founded in 1978 by George Li, a pioneer in UK Chinese cuisine, The Flowerdrum is now run by Li’s son, Wai Ming, who upholds The Flowerdrum’s reputation of serving nothing but exceptional Chinese food.

Lunchtime sees the restaurant filled with shoppers and business people who pile in from the Harlequin shopping centre and nearby offices. The evenings see a much more relaxed atmosphere, ideal for couples or larger parties of friends and family.

House specialities include Aromatic Crispy Duck and Lamb, alongside classics such as Sweet and Sour King Prawns. For those who are more adventurous try the Sizzling Mixed Seafood dish, which is served on a hot iron plate, with Szechuan Hot Peppery sauce to dip.

“Best Chinese in Watford. Try it!” Glyn Atkins
