Back to School
The back to school shopping frenzy has started.
The end of the school holidays is drawing near and with that comes the need to get all of the shopping done for the kids. We’ve come up with a handy list so that you don’t forget anything on your shopping trip.
Uniform is first. Kids grow so quickly, and you’ll need to replace old trousers that will be too short, and white shirts that often become grey and faded, especially if you let the kids do the laundry themselves. Assuming to do a bi-weekly wash, here are the essentials that you’ll need.
Sweaters/ cardigans/ sweatshirts x 3
Shirts x 3
Trousers/skirts x 2
Socks x 4
PE Kit x 1 set (Shorts, t shirt, trainers)
School shoes x 1 pair
A tie, if needed
A school coat
Once you’ve got the clothes sorted, you’ll still need to fill the school bag.
Pen x 3
HB Pencil x 3
Pack of sketch pencils x 1
Coloured pencil set x 1
Pencil Sharpener
Eraser (Get a good one and not a pretty one that doesn’t work!)
Glue stick x 2
Ruler x 1
Highlighters
Ring binder
Pockets for binder
Staplers
Lined notepaper
Printing paper
Printer cartridges
It’s a long list. Make sure you get a good parking spot at your nearest shopping centre so you don’t have to walk for miles with your bags of shopping!
In Leeds, The Merrion Centre is also offering games around the shopping centre where kids get to guess what’s inside the touchy feely boxes, with the chance to win some great back to school prizes.
In Manchester, your best bet is to park at 75 Dale Street for easy access to the Piccadilly shopping area and the Arndale Centre.
