Manchester Arena has a fantastic month of events this August with a host of thrilling live performances.
May and June were jam packed at Manchester Arena, with performances from Lionel Richie, Hans Zimmer, Jeff Lynne’s ELO, Busted and James. August is set to be another rocking month for music at the arena with three electrifying shows from Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Morrissey, The Who.
So leaving the parking to us and enjoy the entertainment.
Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan – Saturday 13 August – Manchester Arena
International superstar and Bollywood icon Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan returns to Manchester to perform at the arena as part of his Greatest Hits live tour.
Khan’s Greatest Hits tour will be one of his most thrilling to date – dazzling fans with a fantastic display of Qawwali and Bollywood hits.
Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is the nephew of the late legendary Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, who also mentored Khan from the age of three. Khan has since become the King of Qawwali and Sufi music and the incredible voice behind hits such as Tere Mast Mast Do Nain, Sajda, Dil To Baccha Hai and Teri Ore.
Morrissey – Saturday 20 August – Manchester Arena
Morrissey is set to play a run of international shows this August, with his only UK date being Saturday 20 August at Manchester Arena.
Morrissey is a cross-generational musical legend and the most distinguished pop lyricist of his era. His latest album is World Peace Is None of Your Business – his first solo release since 2009’s Years of Refusal. World Peace Is None of Your Business peaked at number two in UK charts and marks Morrissey’s 12th Top Ten UK album.
In 2013 he released his autobiography to widespread acclaim. This continues to be a big seller across the UK.
Saturday 20 August marks Morrissey’s first headline show in Manchester since 2012 and will be supported by special guest Damien Dempsey.
The Who – Wednesday 31 August – Manchester Arena
The Who are one of the most legendary and defining rock bands of all time. On Wednesday 31 August they play a special performance at Manchester Arena as part of their Back to The Who Tour 2016.
Fans can expect an ‘Amazing Journey’ through their entire catalogue of music, spanning the days of The High Numbers to classics such as Who’s Next, Tommy, Quadrophenia and my Generation – right up to the present day. Expect nothing short of excellence!
