An appeal from Edward Ziff in support of NHS hospitals...
Chairman and Chief Executive of Town Centre Securities (PLC), CitiPark's parent company, has released an open letter to Yorkshire businesses urging them to get behind a charity appeal for NHS hospitals during the coronavirus outbreak.
Edward Ziff OBE DL, who owns TCS and CitiPark, has appealed for businesses who were able to donate funds or services to support the hospitals during this time. Mr Ziff is also chairman of Leeds Cares, the charity partner of Leeds Teaching Hospitals, who have launched an urgent appeal to support healthcare workers.
In his letter, Mr Ziff made reference to his son Jacob who was cured of childhood leukaemia by hospital staff in Leeds. He said:
“Each of us will have our own stories about how the NHS has been there for us in a time of need. As the NHS prepares for its own difficult days ahead, I’m asking Yorkshire businesses to come together to do what we can to support our staff working on the front line.”
Businesses owned by TCS including the ibis Styles Leeds City Centre Arena hotel and CitiPark's Merrion Centre car park have now been made available to Leeds Teaching Hospitals for as long as they are needed throughout the outbreak.
Mr Ziff asked all businesses who were able to, to support NHS charities in their area, all of whom will be helping vital healthcare staff during this pandemic.
